Posted by VillainousTurtleSLC - July 3rd, 2011

Happy 4th of July everyone!
if you remember me, it's been almost 2 years since my last movie, Hoodoos: http://www.newgrounds.com/p ortal/view/516086. Finally, after a lot of time spent pursuing other artistic endeavors, I bring you my new short, The Truth About George Washington: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/vi ew/573800/

Learn the secret history of the famous George Washington, much of which has been swept under the rug.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

i herd georg wahngtin was die in mothercycle acident

No, you're getting George Washington mixed up with Evil Knievil. Although they both do look alike.

fav'd
some parts were inconsistent with animation quality but the movie/music was fantastic

Yes this was a lot to pull off in 3 months, with work. So I did rush some of the animations. Thanks for watching and for the fave.

i herd he killed his sensay in a duel and he never said why and hes fcuking killing for fun

hey where in utah do you live bro?

I lived in Salt Lake for 21 years, now I live in Wasatch county. Also, I love that your name is King-Rat, which I assume is from the Modest Mouse song, which is easily my favorite by them.

the kick flip was a classic!

It was a rotoscoping of me doing it! Thanks for watching Neil.

Yeah... this was fun to review.

Mine sounded harsh, but it was directed at social networking sites and dropping misleading quotes in the author's comments. You're not the only one, either. There's a really stupid cartoon about Gumbo and Hentai that was littered with such abuse; the cartoon was okay, if a bit crude-looking, but the author comments were meant to mislead the audience into thinking it was another hentai cartoon. It just seems backwards to do that. In a similar vein, announcing that some apocryphal state agency on home education approved of your so-called authenticity is just pushing it. People will fall for it, since the Internet is well-known for making people as ignorant as they try to become better-schooled. Its lack of reliable editorial function retains the validity of the Public Library. Besides, let the Flash crack the jokes; I've seen flashes where the author's comments were more entertaining than the flash itself... which isn't what you want to have happen!

And having to look up a band through Facebook just seems wrong in my mind. What is that site, a bulletin board? They already got Bulletin Board Systems anyway; you know the Newgrounds' Forums? They're called the NGBBS for a reason. Anyway, social networking sites exist only because mainstream maroons had no clue about things like usenet that performed a similar function.

It's a trademark of mine to discover bad stuff and unholy shadow governments behind every little innocuous incident. The fact that I didn't rail against the cartoon itself is proof of its quality, although I still think the joke went on too long. It is interesting to observe a nod to your other hobby, skateboarding, which was one of the sequences that got a great deal of technical attention. That was also the point where I thought this joke was fucking over and I was wishing for the cartoon to end, so while it seemed like a cool idea to you, something that probably required some rotoscoping to pull off... I just thought it just went too far.

It's cool of you to submit a Flash after a two-year hiatus. It's another one of those Front Page winners, although Newgrounds has an international audience so I'm not sure it would pop up there. It does have the quality for it... just not the subject matter. But whatever. Cool Flash overall. Don't take another two years to submit something new, okay?

Thanks for your thoughtful reviews and I'm glad there were positive things about the Flash that you enjoyed!

I don't know what is wrong with me, I just watch this over and over and I am still laughing! Like every time I see Betsy. Does this have subliminal message frames? Are you brainwashing me? Is there a way I can check frame by frame to be sure?

Stephen Colbert seriously needs to see this. He would like it.

There are a few subliminal messages. Thanks for watching.

I like the silhouette scene, the clouds look like a real sunset.

I like your hummingbird photos. Hummingbirds are awesome!

Ferhago, July 10, 2011, used a link in his review. He made no warning of its content. The link should be removed. The similarity of the clip at the link, to this fine flash is less than feeble. Correlation of the two is less than 0.01, which is less than the random correlation of any two works of video art (that share at least one word in their titles) created by two individuals from a population of 300,000 artists.

Of course correlation cannot be used to infer a causal relationship between a prior work and a new work of art anyway.
